Elder Trujillo left the Provo MTC today and headed down to Managua Nicaragua. We got a surprise call from him this morning at 7:00 AM!! He had his first layover in Texas and then flew down to Miami, Florida. He then called us again and was able to talk to everyone! It was rough to say another goodbye but we are so happy for him and it was great to hear his excitement! We are supporting him 100% and are so proud of him. He will be one hour ahead of us and he arrived in Nicaragua at 7:00 Pm (6:00 our time). We will keep you updated as we continue to get emails. At this point if you want to write him it's best to use DearElder.com. They will use pouch mail and he will have a greater probability of receiving your letters!!
We love you Elder Trujillo!!!

Hello! This week has been great! I have many experiences in the MTC. My testimony has grow much and I have gotten to learn about God. By working hard or giving all my faith in Jesus Christ I have to see my blessings. The language has become easier for me. When I grow and learn about God everything was easier I can be less tension in my life after learning this. The blessings of becoming very good. The language is not hard but it will be a long way. I have the personal growth in my district. For I am a leader I have much ability to develop service people in my life. The letter is not long but I hope you can feel the spirit when you read my letter.
My testimony is not large but has changed me. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior, that through Jesus Christ we return to God. I was focused on Jesus Christ is God's plan. I know my family is very important to me and I know I can go back to God with my family. I am very grateful for all the family has given to me. Without my family in my life. Without experiences in my life I do not know the true atonement . I love my family and experience you bring in my life.
I love everyone in my family. Grace all did for me! Bless you all!!
Love,

May 3, 2012 Letter
So the biggest thing that has happened to me is the knowledge that our family will be sealed and together forever. I know this because while in class this week we were testifying and talking about what we most desired in life. It had never occured to me that I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted. That was until this moment in my life I had a thought of our family. Slowly that seed has grown. It has been testified to me that our family will be together forever. The feelings I have had with knowing that makes me so excited. I feel comfort and joy every time it comes to my mind. It makes me happy to know that the joy I feel and I'm sure you feel can be with each one of our family members. If that is able to happen than I dont' need anything else. If I am able to be with you all forever that I would be completely happy because the joy I felt knowing that it could happen has been the biggest joy I can't even explain.
Another thing that has happened is that I have been able to start to understand the love of Christ for each one of us. As I use the atonement everyday to be strengthened I can feel of the mercy and love of Christ. As I learn every day I have noticed that it is only through Christ's mercy can we return. I then think of how merciful he is to come and give up his life for me who is only a single person. However, he did it because he loves us and just as he knows the joy of immortality he wants us to experience the joy he feels.
I have learned that the only way we are able to come closer to him is to be as much like him as we can. We have to consistantly think of others. That we must put off the natural man and become a saint like him. We have to stop worrying about ourselves and try to not worry and help others. A story told to me was about how Christ, even on the cross to die, prayed for others that we need to at our weakest times and lowest times help others.
This week has been the one that I grew the most. It has been the one where I have become the most humbled. That I can't do this work without his help. That only through Christ can this work be possible. I know that he helps us in this work and gives us the tools we need to accomplish it.
Well, now on the day-to-day stuff. Well district leader is pretty easy, nothing too hard. I just am the one who goes and gets letters for our district. I also interview everyone in my district to see how they are doing. I run t he district meetings which we have a topic and we talk about it. We also have a meeting after devotionals, which is when an apostle comes and talks to the missionaries. So after that we go and talk and I just run them I just make sure that we are doing what we need and doing the things to get closer to Christ. I just try to be the best example I can and they usually just follow and try their best. I Love it because I am able to serve and help everyone in my district.
As for everything else it's going well. There hasn't been to many problems. I Love everyone in my district so I don't have problems with anyone. I can't believe how much I have changed though, I haven't really done anything childish. It's weird to say but it's boring to me. I would much rather go and read the scriptres or learn more about the gospel. The food is about the same. Things are speeding up quite a bit however, I love it a lot. I feel like we just had a p-day yesterday. I Love it I am trying yo do everything I can to get all I can so then I can use this time to prepare for investigators other that that not much is happening.
I Love you!

HEY!! How's everything back in Bountiful?!?
Well this week had been great! I have been able to grow and learn so much in the gospel and in spanish!! Tengo mucho exito en espanol!! It's been great so far! The time is starting to speed up and its just so crazy how fast it really goes! It feels like I just got here! After this week I will only be in the United States for 3 more weeks and then I'm off to Nicaragua! That is going to be one of the best days of the MTC. I have however grown a lot and have been doing my best on the language and on learning the gospel.
I was learning about faith, repentance, and baptism this week. It has been on of the most challenging things to do. First off because it made me think and question my own thought on all three of them. I had to truely stop and think if I was doing all that I could to strengthen my faith and use the atonement more in my life to be strengthened. I was able to learn that all of this is possible only through the mercy of Jesus Christ. That we need to repent and strengthen our faith all the time. In the song "Come Thou Fount" it says that we need to have our eye focused on God and what we can do to become more like Him. There are many ways we can do this, one of those is forgiving those that we need to forgive and also always looking out for others. A scripture I read in Mosiah 18 really stuck out to me when I reading. It was talking about how people were wanting to be baptized in the river of Mormon. There it explains what we take upon us when we are baptized and it says "willing to mourn with those that mourn, and care for those that are in need of comfort" It really made me think about my own life and when I wasn't so willing to help those in need of help. In the Christmas conference, David A. Bednar talked about this: He told about a story of a woman and he was at home one day and got a phone call from a girl from the singles ward he was bishop over. She was telling him about an accident she had been in and how she needed his help. The girl was talking with a mom of one of the daughters and they were trying to identify which one of the girls had died. When they had found out that it was it was the daughter of the mom on the phone and they assumed she would need help. However, that mom was calling the other parents letting them know about what just happened and that their daughters were in the hospital. Then later while she was headed over to the funeral for her daughter a lady from the ward who was sick needed food for her family. Right before her own daughters funeral she made food for this family. The feelings I could feel hearing this story was unreal. It was like this event was happening right then and there. He later went on and started talking about Christ and how he suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane. How he was betrayed and how he was crucified. Even in his darkest times he was still thinking of others. He called to God and told him to forgive those who were killing him because they know not what they do. I began to suddenly realize the character of Christ at that moment. He went throgh so much and was killed. While listening I began to feel uncontrollable sorrow for my Savior, for how much he went through for me who did nothing to deserve it.
Through that I have been trying my hardest to become a disciple of Christ. To forgive those that may have done wrong to me, to love all, to help other even when the world seems to come down on me. To turn off the natural man and become more of a saint through the atonement of Jesus. That means being humble to the will of the Lord and to follow the words that he says.
