Wow well on Oct. 28 marked the 7 month mark in the
mission... wow I feel like I just started my mission yesterday!! Well
things are going great here and as we have been working hard to find a
family to baptize we have seen a lot more miracles! First of all we
decided to go out with the members one day and it went extremely well.
I was able to talk with the families that we have and to find some new
people who are truly chosen for us. As I was walking with one of the
members to one of our appointments we passed a young guy who I just said
hi and passed by. Not two seconds later he started to scream ELDERS!!
ELDERS!! half frightened I turned around as he came running towards us.
As he approached us he said why haven't you passed my house in so long?
quite confused by the response I replied what do they call you? lol he
started talking with us and we were able to find out that the
missionaries before had been teaching him and he had a baptismal date
however they had changes and the other missionaries weren't able to find
him. As we continued throughout the day we were able to find and to
teach a lot of families and people. Then as the day came to a close we
went and visited a family that we have been struggling with because they
wont pray... They tell us that they know how and have before however
its a challenge for them. We were supposed to teach the Book of Mormon
and so the member started to teach.... however I cut him off and started
with prayer and the Holy Ghost because I was inspired. As I taught I
have never felt the spirit so strong! In the middle of the lesson I had a
thought come to mind that said "the sight of souls is great in the eyes
of God see how I see." Not understanding what it really meant I
continued. As the member started to teach a little more I remembered
the prophets words from the conferencia general. He said to the
missionaries the way to find success is to look at your investigators
as God sees them. In that moment I suddenly realized that these aren't
just people however my brothers and sisters... I started to picture what I would want for you guys... a family with love and joy. I pictured
him in a shirt and tie ready to serve the lord. I started to realize
there potential and started teaching and as I taught they were attentive
and after the lesson they told me they were going to go pray! I was
extremely grateful for the spirit in that moment to talk how I did.
Because i felt like Nephi when he spoke to his brothers and realized
that they wouldn't have changed if I wouldn't have spoken to them like I
did. I have had experiences when I feel like Amulek and sometimes like Alma when they are preaching to the people. Also I have felt like sons
of Mosiah that I have felt the grandest desire that not ONE soul be lost. . I know that Christ lives and that He is my Savior
and Redeemer. I know through Him we can return to live with our Father
in Heaven. That our family can live together!
Love you guys!
