To be honest mom you are the best sister missionary in the whole world and you had no idea you were serving a mission... even before your calling and before I left. I have come to the understanding of really how much the mission is going to help my life and I was able to see the great difference between one that dedicates every second to do God's will and one that doesn't. As I was teaching a less active member this week, she started to tell us about her different problems as a single mom and there are times when she tries her hardest to have her kids grow up and become good people just like God teaches. She explained the different circumstances which have been influencing her kids. They have been raised in a environment of love and care, but however in the midst of all her hard work in the end she came to know that her son had been using bad words and had been falling into the influences of bad example of friends. As I pondered I was taken away in the spirit and there came a great flow of knowledge that came from God. I told her that she was feeling exactly how we sometimes feel as missionaries, as we teach and struggle to get them to understand someone there seems to always be a outside force pushing down. However mom I want to say you were a very good missionary with me!! Because you gave me more then just a lesson you gave me a path to follow a will to fight and a love thats everlasting. I've learned why God gives us children and why there are families and one of these reasons is the same that I am going through. Without knowing, many are obligated to be missionaries, they may have some of the smallest investigators but they are not far apart. The mission starts when you are married, learning to understand and love your companion and come to understand them and to live with them in the gospel protection helping one another grow and become better... some go through "changes" or re marry but all go through the process of loving and helping one another in the gospel path. The next part comes when they have their first kid, learning to nurture and care for them, learning about there weaknesses and strengths, their challenges and hardships, their wins and losses. Helping them overcome times of hardship and trial, showing them the way and to guide them into paths of righteousness. Without even knowing it mom you were a missionary from the very second you met dad. lol Just as I have gained and pressed forward in times of difficulty you as well have... remembering all the times you went to church alone, trying to show us as kids and family the importance of gospel, with much patience and love you were faithful in all times. You showed love and happiness that comes from the gospel and without even knowing it myself I was being taught. I only hope that one day I will be able to come to that same point that the gospel lives within me.. and not even realizing it. Many times I look to your example to show what to do and when I go through times of trial and difficulties I follow your example of following the Savior. Really putting my trust in Him and allowing him to show me how to become what he wants.
I only want to give you the greatest thank you for all that you do and have done for me. To help me to grow into who I am today, and knowing that I was just as Nephi born of goodly parents who love the Lord. Who teach and guide, not only by word but by example. I am filled with joy to know that ever since I was a little babe I was in the hands of some of the best missionaries I know. Thank you for all that you do mom I love you and send you a huge huge hug!
My time here has taught me so much and has helped me to grow through each experience and each trial I am able to come closer to our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. I know that He loves us and that he guides if we are but willing to listen to the still small voices that speaks to each and everyone of us. That the worth of souls is great and each soul is worth the battle. I know that God has sent us a prophet that too guides us in these our latter days, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and help us come unto him each and every day if we put in practice those things it teaches. I invite you to study ponder and pray its precious words and guidance. That we are all missionaries not only two years but from the day we are born to the day we die, the only question we need to ask ourselves is what type of missionary do we want to be. How much do we want to get out of our mission experience here on the earth. The mission is much more than just peaching its loving one another just as Christ loved us. I love you so very much and hope the best for you each and every week and that you are able to find success in your labors as you come to grow closer to the spirit and our Lord. I know God is guiding and protecting you.
I love you
Elder Trujillo
